"Our club is officially known as the 'Tengoku no Anime Club.' This name is derived from the Japanese tengoku, meaning 'heaven.' When written with the relational no, it means 'heaven’s anime club' or 'Anime Club of Heaven.'"

About Us:

Hello and welcome to the University of Portland's official Anime Club website! Listed here is all the information you need to know about the Tengoku no Anime Club (or just the Anime Club for short).

Our main goal is to relax, watch, discover, and discuss Anime. This club is meant to be a safe place for all anime fans, beginners, or long time enthusiasts. Everyone is welcome to join. This is a great environment to make new friends and get away from the usual school work and studies. We currently meet in in DB 031 from 7-10pm on Thursdays, and 4-7pm on Sundays. This club is meant to be very casual, so anyone can feel free to come by whenever they can.

We feature a variety of shows from various genres, including current simulcasts. Thursday and Sunday have their own anime schedules, meaning that anime shown on Thursdays are different than anime shown on Sundays. On the first two days of club, we will watch the first episode of several anime that we have compiled. At the end of club, we will vote on the top 5-7 anime to continue to watch until the end of the semester. We will mostly be watching subs, and anime that are short and long cour. We look forward to watching anime and having lots of fun!

*All anime must be shown legally; we use sites such as Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Netflix; as well as DVDs / Blu-Ray.

*All material viewed  must conform to University policy and the materials’ ratings will be announced before viewing.
